STONECREST, GA – The City of Stonecrest has been chosen to be a part of the National League of Cities’ (NLC) Good Jobs, Great Cities Learning Network. The network will help participating cities learn from their peers and other national resource providers to build a strong local ecosystem for workforce development.
Stonecrest is joined by 16 other cities in the Good Jobs, Great Cities Learning Network. The City will participate in quarterly networking calls, and have access to NLC’s and U.S. Department of Labor’s tools and resources to accelerate its effort to promote workforce success in key local industries.
“The City of Stonecrest is honored to participate in the Good Jobs, Great Cities program,” said Mayor Jazzmin Cobble. “We are truly thankful for the opportunity to work beside the National League of Cities and the U.S. Department of Labor. This historic investment will help us build upon our efforts to create a more competitive and diversified talent base, right here in the city of Stonecrest.”
The Good Jobs, Great Cities program runs now through 2024.
Stonecrest leaders will serve as advocates and innovators to forge stronger partnerships between the City, residents, businesses, and area stakeholders. The Good Jobs, Great Cities initiatives include scaling Registered Apprenticeship programs, career and technical education programs, youth apprenticeship programs and other earn-and-learn models. Additionally, participants will prioritize incorporating access to critical supportive services, including childcare and mental health services.
