My commissioner time hasn’t ran out,but when it does..unless someone outdoes him, more than likely,I will vote for him again.Although there were some bumps and bruises with him..overall,he tries to get what the people want.
Although I don’t live in the Stonecrest community, there are two candidates from there that fascinates me: Jazzmin Cobble and Kwabena Nkromo.
I’m impressed with political candidates who will fight on the behalf of their citizens and / or their local government. With Jazzmin, she stood up against the school bully.. the Mayor .She didn’t run and I’m glad that she didn’t.Right now, Stonecrest needs help . The last thing the city needs is to look bad and it doesn’t help that the head honcho is damaging their reputation.
I barely ” know” Kwabena Nkromo, but I like what the man is saying when it comes to literally improving his and other communities.I don’t think he want to run for office just to run.Kwabena seems to have a passion for people. He hears them out and mainly want to keep people healthy and I’m on board with that.
I also agree with Kwabena about brining a Farmers market. He mentioned doing some farming ( I believe) in the West End and I’m just fascinated of the various health food restaurants to select from from birth and those that continue to open there .
While I believe that there should be a diversity of foods that people should eat,in most Black communities, all the people get is fast/ unhealthy processed food. As a kid,my siblings and I would spend days I’m Southwest Georgia with my late maternal grandmother where she had a small garden that consisted of squash, mint, turnip and collard greens and when she wasn’t able to get any from her garden, she would go to walk to her neighborhood to get some.
Those were the fun days ..where fresh produce barely cost you anything and where we could help her with her garden.
Besides Jazzmin,I pray that Kwabena win their perspective positions. Stonecrest and just the South DeKalb Community as a whole, who will bring something different to the table.
