GWINNETT COUNTY, GA—Gwinnett County Police Department will host a community meeting to address concerns from residents. The event will be held on Thursday, March 9, 6:30 p.m. at Universal Church, 6081 Singleton Rd., Norcross.
In recent weeks, Gwinnett has had a number of tragic incidents, including homicides involving youths as well as a number of overdoses among teens. These incidents have directly impacted the Hispanic community in Gwinnett. Authorities say that false information has been spreading on social media and by word of mouth about these incidents. This meeting will be an opportunity for residents to ask questions and get answers directly from the Gwinnett Police Department.
Spanish-speaking officers and interpreters will be on hand to assist authorities said
The panel will consist of the Chief of Police, Chief J.D. McClure and members of the command staff from West Precinct and Criminal Investigations.
“While we will not be able to discuss the specifics of active cases, we are encouraging Gwinnett residents who may have questions about our procedures or anyone who may have concerns about what’s going on in their neighborhood to please plan to attend this meeting,” spokesperson Sgt. Jennifer Richter stated in a news release.
