Gwinnett County is now under a state of emergency. Board of Commissioners Chairman Charlotte Nash has signed a declaration of local emergency to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 in Gwinnett.
“Based upon the President’s Declaration of National Emergency and the Governor’s Public Health State of Emergency, I believe it is in the best interest of the welfare of Gwinnett County and its residents to declare a local state of emergency to activate certain emergency powers under the Gwinnett County Emergency Management Ordinance,” said Nash.
Among other provisions, the local state of emergency calls for all available resources of the county to be used as reasonably necessary to cope with the impact of COVID-19 on Gwinnett County.
The local emergency declaration will end April 13, 2020, unless renewed in accordance with the Gwinnett County Code of Ordinances

So, in this state of emergency, where would a resident of Gwinnett County go to get tested? The Doctor offices do not have test kits, they refer to Public Health Office. The PUblic Health Offices are not prepared to address testing and they refer to commercial labs such as LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics who in turn say they do not take specimens for testing. So, Ms. Chairman what is someone with symptoms including fever supposed to do to be tested. I am a healthcare worker, likely to have been exposed, self isolating with symptoms including a fever and no where to turn for testing so that I can find out if I may have possibly exposed patients or co workers to the virus before I self isolated.
I don’t want my email posted. I want information on how to be tested so that I can’t report to my employer and co workers on precautions THEY should take.
Please put a curfew 6PM until 10am I think it good idea it make sense…..
