DECATUR, GA– In celebration of Earth Day, DeKalb Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs’ Friends of Shoal Creek Park I and Park Pride will team up to host a volunteer project on Saturday, April 23, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Shoal Creek Park I, 3642 Glenwood Road, Decatur.
The public is invited to volunteer alongside neighbors at the Shoal Creek Park I to clean up while enjoying the outdoors. The workday will target saving trees from English ivy, clearing vegetation and litter pick up.
Participants are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle, wear closed-toed shoes, long pants and sleeves to avoid any scratches or accidental contact with poison ivy. Park Pride will provide work gloves and tools.
