DeKalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson and the Atlanta Beauty Supply Association, Chapel Beauty, and Mission Agape, have partnered to provide Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) for health officials who are on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through the partnership, Johnson donated 1,000 masks and 1,000 pair of gloves to the Emory Decatur and Emory Hillandale hospitals on March 25. In addition, on April 2, Johnson donated 1,000 masks each to Grady Health System and Oakhurst Medical Center.
Johnson worked to help donate masks due to the local and national shortage of such supplies.
“Our health care professionals are to be commended beyond measure for their bravery and passion to continue to fight through this critical time as they are determined to persevere and help those that require medical attention, said Johnson.
As an academic health professional, Johnson understands the importance of the public health crisis and greatly appreciates the sacrifices being made.
